Presenting is a learned skill. As a leader in the medical community, the moment you rise to speak you assume a position of leadership.
Effective speakers learn how to present in the same way they learn the tools needed to operate their practice, program or organization. Persuasive public speaking takes time and much practice to perfect. Taking time to develop and practice your presentation techniques and use voice recording, mirrors or even videotape to review your progress and fine-tune your style. Ask peers to critique your rehearsals and be tough on yourself as your own worst critic.
